Keeping Your Pet Warm with Dog Coats

On the surface, it would seem silly that a person would buy a dog coat. Why would a dog need a coat when nature has already equipped it with fur? And yet, one must assess if fur is always the best defense, especially in extremely cold weather. Maybe longer-haired dogs could take it, but if a dog has short hair or even no hair, there really is no need to to consult with any type of fashion PR, however, a manmade dog coat is not really a bad idea.

In addition, dog coats tend to be really stylish. For female pets, there are dog coats that are pink and frilly– assuming that’s the type of persona you want your dog to represent. If you would prefer something more neutral, you could opt for the designs often given for male dogs, which include basic leather coats or plain-colored cotton jackets.

Of course, don’t think that there aren’t more ‘masculine’ designs for the male dog. Consider the dog coats designed with a motorcycle or military themes. Such designs are a perfect choice for dogs belonging to men interested in those types of things. I remember following the release of the Pirates of the Carrabean, there were a series of tresure hunt dog coats that flooded the market for a short period of time.

There are even designer dog coats, which are crafted with the finest materials around. Granted, they are a bit more expensive than regular dog coats, but at least you know the coat will last a long time. Plus, since they tend to be designed by some of the world’s top fashion designers, you know they’re going to look good. The same is not always true for some of the cheaper dog coats out there.

In conclusion, dog coats can be invaluable for your pet. They provide warmth while giving your pet a sense of style. In fact, depending on how fashionable you are, you could consider coordinating your coat with theirs. That way, both you and your dog would be walking down the street in style.
