Are you thinking about adopting a rabbit? Well rabbits make great pets and they tend to be good with people. But before you go ahead and get your family a rabbit, there are a few things that you should give some thought to.
It is important that you and your family be aware of what is required in taking care of a rabbit and also what their behaviours will likely be like. Here are some things to consider:
Rabbits tend to live long. Many rabbits will live for up to 12 years. Are you prepared for this kind of commitment in time and other things? If you are not ready to make this level of commitment then maybe adopting a rabbit that is older will be best for you.
You will certainly need to give them constant care daily and also some attention. Rabbits do not like to be caged up, and so you must be prepared to allow them to roam a bit outside the cage. Interaction is also important if they are to get use to other people.
Not many people are aware that rabbits tend to have some sensitivity to heat. If you are going to have them indoors you will have to make sure your home is climate controlled. If the temperature inside your home gets to over 80 degrees, this can bring on a heatstroke.
A quiet household is best suited for rabbits. They tend to not like noise and this makes a noisy household not a good fit.
It is necessary that you consider these things before you make your final decision.
One last thing I need to ask of you all before I go, I am attempting to sort something for my mother as a gift. When I was having a chat with her the other evening she said that she would like a new pair of mizuno running shoes . Any suggestions or do you know of a good place to get them?
