The most important thing that you need to know and realize is that breeding dogs may take a lot of your time as well as financial resources. It would also be best if you choose to breed dogs that are from the highest pedigree. You need also to be certain that these dogs have neutral dispositions and of course free from any hereditary defects and diseases. Always make to a point to never breed dogs that have genetic defects as it may be carried on to the new breeds.
There may be times where you may be faced with uterine problems in the female dogs. You need to make sure that your dog is at least 2 years old, otherwise, it would not be recommended to breed.
Once the female canine meets all your requirements then you are almost on the go. After that, you need to consider the environment for the puppies that would be born out of the breeding. Make sure that you have a suitable room to accommodate at least 12 puppies and that it should be able to handle the noise level.
Be sure to clean up the dogs’ excreta etc., and don’t forget to wean and feed them. Be sure to have them checked by a veterinarian.
There are a lot of reasons why an individual would want to breed dogs. Be it for self satisfaction or to earn a good income, always keep in mind that these dogs should have a quality life. Do not just give them away or sell them to anyone who walks through your door. Make sure that the ones who buy them too are capable of feeding them and giving them the basic necessities.
Caring for your dogs does not end after breeding - you need to follow through even until the new owner gets them – this way, it will be more fulfilling.
Speaking of pets, if anyone has recently heard of any jobs for vets going I know of a few people who are looking for them. Please let me know as soon as you can!
