Planning to bring home a dog? Then you need to understand that they require the same amount of care and attention as a small baby does. Also when you adopt a dog you need to apply for a dog license which is mandatory across many states in US. It is advisable to attach the dog license to the collars of your pet so that you can easily find them in case they get lost. Besides dog licensing here are some basic guidelines which will help the novice pet owners to take care of their new friend:

· It is essential that you establish a good relationship with a veterinarian staying close to your locality who can help you to take care of your dog by providing with useful advice and help incase your pet is sick or injured.

· When you bring home a pet it is important that you opt for pet health insurance to help you cover the vet bills which can be quiet hefty at times.

· Buy good quality feeding bowls for your pet to serve them clean water and pet food. Do not opt for cheap quality plastic bowls which can harm your pet.

· Ask your vet to recommend a good quality worming product for your dog to keep its coat shiny and free from pests and fleas

· Don’t forget to ask your doctor about the right dog food to give to your pet for its proper growth as dogs can’t survive on human food. They also require more calcium for proper development of their bones and teeth. Hence ask your vet to recommended a suitable dog food brand which will provide you pet will all the nourishment

· You then need to invest in good quality dog care grooming products such as dog brush, teeth cleaner, dog house and their own bed and blanket

It is equally important to find a good dog trainer and helper for your dog who can be a big help when you are out of station. Keep these tips in mind and enjoy the company of your new cuddly companion.

In this fast paced world, sometimes we tend to forget important obligations or place them at the bottom of our priorities list. Many of us live a busy life and the hard fact is that there may be times when we put our canine best friends in jeopardy. Thus, it would be better to go in for a dog sharing arrangement.

People usually share their canine pets to make sure that the dog will be properly taken care of and that they will not be left alone for long periods of time. Dogs like any other human being also need attention and physical activities. This process of dog-sharing is indeed convenient for those who do not have enough time to watch over their pets. This will allow the sharing parties to be not so tied down with canine obligations and to come up with arrangements that would be beneficial for them both. This will even be lucrative as it allows each party to go on trips, holidays, vacations and concentrate on their work without having to worry about their dogs.

Dog experts ideally recommend dog sharing to only two parties or families because animals they may be, they still need a sense of security and persistence just like their human owners. And these parties should at least have the same level of thinking when it comes to canine preferences such as what to feed the dog, the quality and quantity that needs to be given, will there be certain parts in the house that the dog is not permitted even the kind of activities the dog will be trained with. Consistency with the rules from both parties will speed up the adaptation of the dog.

Even if the dog is being shared by two parties, the legal primary owner is ideally to bear the necessary costs to take care of the pet. This would include food, veterinary care and support, treatments for flea and de-worming procedures, vaccines such as anti-rabies, insurance, training and especially grooming.
